SNMA Black History Month Banquet 2018

Join the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) in celebrating Black History Month with our 3rd Annual Black History Month Banquet! The theme for the banquet will be "I Rise..." ,which echoes the message of Maya Angelou's famous poem "Still I Rise" and serves as a confirmation that, despite the pain of the past and present, we are working toward a bright future. The night will be filled with entertainment and education, together we will learn about the history of the Black History celebration and its significance to all peoples. We will be providing a delicious meal, live musical performances, spoken word by renowned artist Grim Jackson, and more!

Our keynote speaker for the evening will be Dr. Edith Mitchell, MD, FACP, FCPP, Clinical Professor of Medicine and Medical Oncology, Director for the Center to Eliminate Cancer Disparitites, Associate Director for Diversity Affairs at Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Mitchell is also the Immediate Past President of the National Medical Association.
